I start with copper sheet metal and hand emboss the font of your choosing. Last name, favorite phrase, etc.

Underneath I hand stamp your wedding or anniversary date along with the individual names. This can be done for a couple or family. The Anderson sign features an established date the couple and the children's names. You could do birthdates instead if you wish up to 5 names or dates total under the established date.

Next, I torch fire a patina onto the copper. This is like painting with a torch. I can achieve an array of colors ranging from vibrant, to more subdued hues. The last two picture show a couple of variations. Each piece turns out unique and one of a kind. It is important to know, the colors appear different depending on the angle the copper catches the light, but they are all unique and beautiful.

The large embossed letters are painted with the torch meticulously. The letters are then individually hand sanded to show bits and pieces of the shiny metal. This gives the piece great character while contrasting with the aged and vibrant look of the patina.

Just a large name or short phrase may be embossed or you may have a date and names hand stamped if you wish. If you need more than 5 names stamped, please contact us for a custom listing.

Wood is done with a medium stain and protective varnish. Each sign comes with brackets for easy hanging. Your sign will also look nice displayed in a picture easel. This makes a wonderful wedding, anniversary, birthday, housewarming or Valentine's Day gift. Excellent choice as a room, store or office sign. Great as a family heritage sign.
