I start with copper sheet metal and hand emboss the font of your choosing. The embossing is all hand tooled and great care, time and attention is taken to give it depth and texture. Last name, favorite phrase, etc. Choice of amount of letters is for the large embossed name or phrase. If you require more than 16 letters, we do have larger signs as can be here

Underneath I hand stamp your wedding or anniversary date along with the individual names. Some do not want hand stamping. Those that do can choose an established date or coordinates and the couples' names or family names. We can do 5 names hand stamped or a phrase up to 5 words. Next, I use torch fire to create a unique, colorful patina.
This can be done for a couple or family. Next, I torch fire a patina onto the copper. This is like painting with a torch. I can achieve an array of colors ranging from vibrant, to more subdued hues. Each piece turns out unique and one of a kind. The large embossed letters are hand sanded to show bits and pieces of the shiny metal underneath. This gives the piece great character while contrasting with the aged look of the patina. The copper art is then placed on a finished wood piece and set with finishing nails. This listing is for a sign on the natural wood with the original bark on the top and bottom. You may request natural or dark stain.

You may choose the amount of letters for the embossing. This is usually the last name, a phrase, a place or even a store name. We have done a homebrew sign, a vacation home sign called "Journey's Reward".

I am able to torch fire two types of finishes. The Old World muted has more subtle, earthy antiqued hues. The vibrant has brighter reddish and violet hues for a more modern copper patina. The Wharff sign is the Old World muted and the others are examples of Vibrant and modern.

Each sign comes with saw tooth brackets for easy hanging. These also look great in a picture easel. If you prefer wire or twine hanging, you may request this in note to seller at no additional charge.
