I start with copper sheet metal and hand emboss the font of your choosing. The embossing is all hand tooled and great care, time and attention is taken to give it depth and texture. Last name, favorite phrase, initials etc.

Underneath I hand stamp your wedding or anniversary date. You may also have a phrase stamped as in "Please Close Gate" up to 20 characters including spaces.

In lieu of a date, we have done coordinates for a special place, location of wedding, location of met place, location of anniversary celebration, location of honeymoon, pet dates, etc. Names can be done for a couple or family.

Next, I torch fire a patina onto the copper. This is like painting with a torch. I can achieve an array of colors ranging from vibrant, to more subdued hues. Each piece turns out unique and one of a kind. The large embossed letters are hand sanded to show bits and pieces of the shiny metal underneath. This gives the piece great character while contrasting with the aged look of the patina. Your finished copper piece will be 7x4" .036" thick so bendable and fragile until adhered to a surface. We will include 12 black tack nails if you are hammering to a gate, fence, shed, etc.

You may choose the amount of letters for the embossing. This is usually the last name, a phrase, a place or even a store name. We have done a homebrew sign, a vacation home sign called "Journey's Reward", chicken coop sign. You may choose up to 8 characters including spaces for 1 line of embossing, or 18 including spaces for two lines of embossing.
