I start with copper sheet metal and hand emboss name, Last name, favorite phrase, etc. This particular sign was for a client's resting place as a special memory. Underneath I can hand stamp any special date, nickname or special phrase.

Next, I torch fire a patina onto the copper. This is like painting with a torch. I can achieve an array of colors ranging from vibrant, to more subdued hues. I do several firings to achieve a unique patina. Each piece turns out unique and one of a kind. It is important to know, the colors appear different depending on the angle the copper catches the light, but they are all unique and beautiful.

The large embossed letters are painted with the torch meticulously. The letters are then individually hand sanded to show bits and pieces of the shiny metal. This gives the piece great character while contrasting with the aged and vibrant look of the patina, Just a large name or short phrase may be embossed or you may have a date and names hand stamped if you wish.

The copper art is then placed on a finished wood piece and set with black finishing nails. This listing has a frame in decorative border wood that is drilled on each side.

This remembrance style sign comes with stainless steel bolts which we sharpen at the ends so they may be hammered into the ground. It includes several coats of specialty outdoor varnish to protect. The varnish should be replaced about every 2-3 years for longer protection.

Wood is done with a natural, medium stain or dark stain and outdoor protective varnish. Your sign will also look nice displayed in a picture easel if you prefer no drilled holes and stainless steel bolts. This makes a wonderful wedding, anniversary, birthday, housewarming or Spring gift. Excellent choice as a room, store or office sign. Great as a family heritage sign.

A great deal of time and care are taken when creating your special, one of a kind piece. Please allow up to 10 days for creation and shipment. Each piece of wood takes several hours for each industrial coat of protective varnish to dry on each side

1) the name you want embossed and
2) the date and names for the hand stamping only if you wish for hand stamping, some choose no hand stamping
3) if you prefer a different stain other than medium with varnish
